Consultations are by appointment only and can be booked in person or by telephoning during normal surgery hours (if telephoning please bear in mind that it is always busier in the morning). Please make a separate appointment for each person wishing to see the doctor.
A number of appointments are available on the day, some of which are only released in the afternoon. You can also book appointments up to 4 weeks in advance. It is the aim of the practice that you should be able to see a health care professional within 24 hours and a doctor within 48 hours.
We also offer extended hours for patients who commute or find it difficult to get to the surgery during normal hours. These slots are strictly for pre-booked appointments only Please be aware that during these times the practice phones are transfered over to the answerphone, as the out of hours prover is responsible for providing cover.
Children under the age of 16 are advised to have a responsible adult with them during a consultation. Any patient requiring a chaperone should inform the receptionist on arrival or if possible at the time of booking the appointment.
In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses, of which we have four, are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly. We are also pleased to be able to offer the enhanced services of a nurse prescriber who can deal with issues such as asthma, contraception and basic skin disorders.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
Suffolk GP+ is for people who urgently need a doctor's appointment or are unable to attend their GP during normal surgery hours. Appointments can be made via the practice Reception during normal surgery hours. PLEASE NOTE: Patients cannot refer themselves to this service
